The Easy Way to Drop A Size

If you need to drop a size quickly, then you will be happy to know that there are several things that you can do that will help you reach your goals. Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to work out excessively or follow a restricted diet to lose weight. There are a number of simple things that you can do. Below are easy things that you can do to drop a size:


Cardio Interval Training

When many people hear the term “cardio,” they immediately begin to think about spending hours on a treadmill or another type of aerobic equipment. However, you can get an effective cardio workout in just 30 minutes. Interval training is one of the most effective ways to lose weight fast. Interval training not only helps you burn calories during your workout, but it also helps raise your metabolism.

You perform interval training by working out intensely for a few minutes and then exercising at a less intense pace. For example, you can run on the treadmill at a speed of 7.0 MPH for five minutes and then walk at a speed of 3.0 MPH for five minutes. You keep alternating walking and running until you have completed your workout. You can also use ellipticals to perform interval training.

Perform Strength Training

You cannot have a good exercise routine without strength training. Strength training not only makes your muscles stronger, but it also helps boost your metabolism and burn fat.  That is why you want to include strength training in your regime at least two times out of the week.

You want to perform exercises that target all of the major muscle groups in the body. Squats, bicep curls, pull-ups, push-ups, crunches and triceps dips are examples of exercises that can be placed in the strength training category. You should perform 8-10 sets and two to three sets of each exercise.

Be Mindful of Your Food Choices

You will have to make a couple of adjustments in your diet if you want to drop a size. Foods that are processed and/or high in sugar should be avoided. Your diet should consist mostly of fresh vegetables, fruits, lean protein and whole grains. You may also want to write down everything you eat in a food diary. That will make it much easier for you to stay on the right track.  Furthermore, you should drink plenty of water and avoid sugar-containing beverages.

Dropping a size is a lot easier than you may think. You just have to burn calories and get more metabolism going by performing strength and interval training. You also need to make sure that you make wise food choices and steer clear of unhealthy foods.
